Neuropathy Therapy Stimulator - Neurostim. Diabetic neuropathy is the commonest complication of diabetes; more than 50% of people with type 2 diabetes of 10 years duration have been affected with diabetic neuropathy. Electrical Stimulation is Effective in Reducing Neuropathic Pain in Patients with Diabetes. Electrical stimulation is evaluated as an analgesic modality in patients with painful diabetic neuropathy. Chronic distal symmetrical polyneuropathy (DSPN) is the most common clinical neuropathy of the diabetes population and upto 50% of DSPN patients may experience symptoms, most frequently burning pain, electrical or stabbing sensations, paresthesia, hyperesthesia, and deep aching pain. Neuropathic pain is typically worse at night, and the symptoms are most experienced in the feet and lower limbs, although in some cases the hands may also be affected. Most of the painful DSPN patients may experience excruciating pain. The symptomatic response rate was satisfactory. Almost 85% of the patients experience benefits in the pain symptoms. After 4 weeks of treatment, more than 10% drop in stimulation voltage required for the patient’s perception. There is significant reduction in pain; almost 40% reduction in pain scale is seen. A more impressive observation was that no patients felt severe pain in pain score scale after the Neurostim electrical stimulation. To summarise, Electrotherapy is a useful noninvasive, non-pharmacological treatment modality for the management of painful peripheral neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. This form of therapy may be combined with a pharmacological agent to augment symptomatic relief. Neurostim relieves the pain and numbness, helps to sleep all night, restores balance and mobility, restores feeling in feet and hands, reduces, or eliminates pain medications, helps walking pain free. Neuropathy Therapy Stimulator model Neurostim is available in two variants. Neurostim Hospital or Professional model – Has 2 channel outputs, mains operated, built-in timer, Neuropathy Therapy Stimulation (NST), Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) modes are available. Supplied with 2 pairs of 2-inch square reusable electrodes, one pair of conductive slipper electrodes, one pair of conductive socks and one pair of conductive gloves for Carpal tunnel symptom. Neurostim Clinic or Home model – Has 2 channel outputs, Handheld with RC battery operated, built-in timer, Neuropathy Therapy Stimulation (NST) and Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) are available. Supplied with 2 pairs of 2-inch square reusable electrodes, one pair of conductive slipper electrodes and one pair of conductive socks.
